There are two types of urine screening processes. The first one is called “immunoassay” which is the most cost-effective and offers faster results. However, it has its drawbacks as not all opioids can be detected and false positives sometimes occur. The second one is “Gas chromatography” or “Mass spectrometry,” also known as GC/MS. GC/MS tests are more expensive and the results take longer to retrieve, but it screens many types of opioids and rarely produces false positives.
The DOT requires GC/MS lab testing, but for non-DOT purposes, we provide instant drug testing with the use of a urine specimen. It can be performed for a panel of five or ten drugs.
